Here are the current projects we’re working on. Find out how to help below.
When we were in one of the refugee camps we visited last year, we heard the children crying to parents because of hunger, and were informed that food was delivered only once a week and then had to be portioned for the remaining days. It was hardly enough for them to survive.
Your donation will ensure that food will be bought in Jordan and be hand delivered by our partners on the ground directly to refugee families in need.
Hundreds of refugees each year die during the cold winters. As we arrived in the camps last year to distribute blankets from Saranoni, mothers holding children in their arms lined up before we could open the bags. The need was greater than we anticipated.
YOUR DONATION WILL PROVIDE BLANKETS TO REFUGEE CHILDREN. NOVA WILL THEN BE SHIPPING OVER THE CONTAINERS DIRECTLY TO JORDAN WHERE VOLUNTEERS FROM HELPING HANDS WILL TAKE EVERY COAT AND BLANKET AND HAND DELIVER THEM TO THE REFUGEE CAMPS.
At a camp in the northern part of Lebanon, a mother we met was caring for her family the best way she could. Education in this refugee camp was all but inaccessible. The nearest school requires $40 a month in transportation fees. Her choice was often to buy more food or to pay the bus fare for her daughter to attend school. The choice wasn’t an easy one, but this mother choses education.
She believes that education is more important than additional food. She clings to the hope that the future will be a little less foggy if her daughter has the tools to help herself and others. She has hope for a better future.
